Alyssa Culver

NMD, PMHNP

Alyssa began her NMD career in family medicine alongside her work in a drug and alcohol detox center in Arizona. Both of these areas built her skill in integrative, whole body medicine, and sparked a desire to treat the root cause of many issues which she found started with mental health. Today, using her skills in Naturopathic and Psychiatric medicine, she works with patients to find whole-body and mind wellness, specializing in hormones and psychiatry.

In her downtime, Alyssa loves to play video games, such as the Legend of Zelda and Elden Ring, is a Latin-style dancer, and spends time in nature.

Using LEGOs in therapy is an evidence-based approach used to develop social skills, communication, and emotional regulation. LEGOs are highly motivating, playful, and non-threatening, making them ideal for individuals who struggle with traditional talk therapy or have speech delays. For Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), LEGOs help develop "joint attention," non-verbal communication, and flexible thinking. For Anxiety and Trauma, LEGOs provides a tactile, calming distraction that makes it easier for clients to open up about difficult topics or emotions and for ADHD, LEGOs train executive functions like sustained attention, working memory, and self-regulation.
